The goal for every client is to help them return to the highest level of function and independence.
At Next Step Rehab P.A. our vision is to offer a calm, relaxing, low-stress environment while providing high-quality physical therapy services. We facilitate healing by improving function and promoting active participation in exercise and independent management. We pride ourselves on providing one-on-one treatment to our clients.
Dr. Jack McIntosh founded Next Step Rehab P.A. to provide individual physical therapy for the general public. Upon receiving degrees in Music and Psychology at the University of Central Florida, he began his career in therapy, combining the degrees to become a musical therapist at a residential center for handicapped and developmentally challenged individuals. While working in this environment, he worked hand in hand with the physical therapy department developing treatment plans and strategies for the residents of the facility. He continued this work in a group home for developmentally challenged children and adolescents. This is where his desire to become a physical therapist was created.
Following this desire, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Science Physical Therapy program. Later, in order to enrich and further his education, he returned to the University of St. Augustine where he earned his Physical Therapy Doctorate.
As a licensed Physical Therapist, Dr. McIntosh practiced in many diverse settings to include Acute Care (inpatient), Neuro Rehabilitation, Outpatient Orthopedic, Home Health, and Pediatric Healthcare. He has practiced in many settings from large hospitals, group homes, small office practice, and individual practice. One of his favorite settings was combining his love of animals and therapy to treat mentally challenged and autistic children utilizing dolphins.
In his personal life, Dr. McIntosh is an accomplished musician, writing, and performing music with an album of original music to his credit. He is also a Captain in the Merchant Marine and a pilot. He has a fond attachment to all animals and a love of nature.
